FERRY is Rotterdam’s LGBTQ+ party. But a party can be more than a party.
It can be the place where you have your first gay kiss.
Where you put on drag for the first time.
Where you meet someone you’ll never forget.
Where you dance until you can barely breathe.
Where you disappear into the darkroom.
Where you come alone and leave with ten new friends.
It can be three hours of dancing, sweating, flirting and forgetting about everything outside.
That’s what FERRY is about.

We didn’t exactly follow a five-year plan.

Over the years, we’ve created weddings, hosted stages at festivals, built our own festival at FERRY Backsteeg, been part of Rotterdam Pride from the beginning, marched and celebrated countless times at Amsterdam Pride, showed up at Utrecht Pride — and even took FERRY to Madrid for our first club night outside the Netherlands.

✓A little chaos.
✓And a lot of work behind the scenes.
We care about all of it.

Because for us, FERRY has never been about simply opening the doors and throwing another party.

We want to create the nights people talk about the next morning. Give queer talent a stage. Turn ridiculous ideas into very real things. And keep pushing what queer nightlife in Rotterdam can look like.

We dream big. We work hard. And when we think something should exist, we’d rather build it ourselves.

FERRY is a bit of all of them.

We want to keep creating spaces where queer people can be visible, sexual, loud, ridiculous, beautiful, complicated and completely themselves.

Sometimes that means a drag show on a Monday.
Sometimes it means a packed dancefloor at 3AM.
Sometimes it means a conversation that needed to happen.
Sometimes it means a very dark room.
There is room for all of it.
